GENEVA – According to the WHO, around two billion people lack safe drinking water, and climate change worsens health issues like heat-related illnesses and facing malnourishment. Developing countries, contributing least to climate change, bear the impact of its health impacts and lack resources for adaptation. The Green Climate Fund, GCF has launched initiatives, including a grant of USD 1.5 million, to boost climate resilience in healthcare. As climate change continues to threaten global health, urgent investment in the health-specific climate actions is vital to safeguard vulnerable populations and healthcare systems.
