A new study of the “Nature-based Solutions for Climate, Biodiversity and People” project shows the essential role of UAE’s coastal lagoons in climate action and the biodiversity conservation. Covering 27% of the coastline, these lagoons are dynamic habitats for endangered species, significant carbon sinks, and offer natural coastal protection and tourism opportunities. Conservation efforts are essential to maintain their ecological and economic paybacks.
