In a milestone for wildlife protection, the UAE has released 63 falcons into the wilds of Kazakhstan, and now bringing the total number returned to nature to 2,274. This effort is a part of the Sheikh Zayed Falcon Release Programme, established in 1995 to save Saker and Peregrine falcons. The programme is controlled by the Environment Agency — Abu Dhabi in collaboration with many international partners, focused to sustain the ecological and cultural legacy of falconry.
